Hope College is looking for a highly motivated and energetic candidate to be a part-time assistant men's basketball coach. The successful candidate will assist in all facets of the men's basketball program as assigned by the head men's basketball coach and will adhere to the rules of the NCAA and the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Expectation to live in campus housing in order to frequently engage with student-athletes on-campus in the dining halls and in other prominent areas on the campus.
-JV head coach and varsity assistant.
-Organize and conduct in-season skill workouts for individual players or small groups of position players.
-Assist in planning, organizing and directing all phases of the intercollegiate men's basketball program including practice, games, conditioning and staff management.
-Assist the head coach with the administrative duties of the program
-Recruiting, duties including but not limited to:
-Assist with on-campus visits.
-Off-campus recruiting travel to games, spring and summer AAU tournaments/showcases and high schools as directed by Head Coach.
-Direct communication with prospective student-athletes (Phone, text, etc) Working with high school coaches to attract student-athletes to Hope College.
-View and analyze film to assist in player analysis and individual and team development.
