Army West Point Athletic Association is currently seeking a Head Coach for the Women’s Basketball program who possesses a tough, tireless work ethic, impeccable character, and a burning desire to win with honor. This role will lead the charge in creating and maintaining a successful Division I Women’s Basketball program while adhering to all policies, rules, and regulations set forth by the United States Military Academy, the Army West Point Athletic Association, the Patriot League, and the NCAA. The Head Coach will understand the unique culture of West Point and will play an integral part in providing an extraordinary Division I experience for the members of the team and aiding the mission of the United States Military Academy in developing leaders of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor and Country.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

-Responsible for the ongoing teaching and instruction of Cadet-Athletes.

-Provides leadership and instruction on personal and athletic development of Cadet-Athletes, to include counseling team members in academic, disciplinary, and personal matters, when appropriate.

-Oversees recruitment and selection of Cadet-Athletes; ensures compliance with NCAA recruiting rules and regulations; initiates process for determining academic eligibility.

-Provides an overall positive educational environment for Cadet-Athletes conducive to learning, athletic development, social growth, and preparing them for life beyond college.

-Participates in camps, clinics, exhibitions, and campus activities as approved by Academy and Athletic Department leadership and cleared by compliance.

-Manages sports programs within the framework of a balanced budget.

-Represents the Athletic Department at professional, civic, charitable and alumni events.

-All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
•    Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. 
•    Minimum of 8-10 years of collegiate coaching experience and success.  
•    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in diverse settings, both on campus and in the community.
•    Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills both orally and in writing.
•    Ability to provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of staff and Cadet-Athletes.
•    Commitment to the highest ethical standards.
•    Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
•    Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
