Who We Are

Located in the heart of Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley, the city of Harrisonburg is approximately 120 miles from Washington, D.C. and Richmond, VA. James Madison University is seeking an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach to work within a highly competitive program. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Coaching
• Daily instructions with the team
• Recruiting
• Opponent scouting
• Player development
• Public relations
• Travel
• Game scheduling
• Admissions/financial aid
• Community outreach
• Compliance with NCAA, Sun Belt and JMU regulations

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience at the Division 1 level
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• Candidates should possess a demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically

Preferred:

• Five or more years of experience at the Division 1 level
• Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the ability to recruit high level student-athletes, ability to communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty, staff and the community.
