Summary: The Head Women's Basketball Coach/Athletics Department Communications Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations to run a highly competitive intercollegiate women's basketball program while also serving the Athletics Department in creation and distribution of all communications related to college athletics across multiple platforms, including maintenance and oversight of the clclancers.com website and social media accounts, oversight and management of game day staffing, and sports broadcasting/streaming. Reporting to the director of athletics, the athletics department communications coordinator serves as a liaison between the Athletics Department and the Public Relations and Marketing Department, and will manage their assistant coaching staff, student worker aides, mascot, and game day broadcasting, streaming, and public address event workers.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of one (1) year previous softball coaching experience required.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Demonstrated experience writing press release and maintaining websites or related experience.
Position requires excellent communications and public relations skills. Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet and work with deadlines.
Skills Requirement:

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, maintain records, generate reports and communicate with others. Proven ability to work effectively with individuals and teams from diverse backgrounds and professional responsibilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to handle all situations with tact, persuasiveness, and diplomacy.
Ability to sit continuously, walk and stand frequently, and bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, lift 0-50 lbs., lift 50+ lbs., carry 0-50 lbs., and carry 50-75lbs. occasionally.
Desired Qualifications: Media relations, website and social media management experience preferred.
Knowledge of NJCAA eligibility and compliance rules.
Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel/spreadsheet skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word.
Experience with desktop publishing (Adobe InDesign), photo (Adobe Photoshop) and video (Premier Pro, After Effects, and/or Final Cut Pro) editing, and various statistical systems (Stat Crew, Prestosports, Presto Live Stats) preferred.
Previous supervisory experience.
Current certification in CPR/AED.
Bi-lingual in Spanish and English

Summary of Essential Functions: Job Category: Student Services, Coaching 50%1) Attract and recruit a competitive full roster to include a combination of high school event, practice, campus and/or home visits, using technology-based and other successful recruitment methods.
2) Assist with the growth and expansion of current retention & success initiatives for athletes and remain within guidelines, rules, policies and procedures established by the NJCAA, Region IV, the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference, CLC and other supervisory or oversight organizations.
3) Perform seasonal/ off-season duties, including, but not limited to: administration, record keeping and coordination; scheduling; coaching at games, conferences and tournaments; attending meetings, conferences, games, tournaments and end of season events; holding pre-season tryouts; conducting practices; and, fundraising.
4) Review all practices, facilities and conditions on a regular basis to reduce liability and potentially negative consequences. Insure that appropriate injury report paperwork and documentation is communicated to the Head Athletic Trainer.
5) File end of season, records, honors/awards and other related reports as directed.
6) Adheres to established guidelines and rules of the college, ISCC, and NJCAA. Meet all NJCAA statistical reporting deadlines
7) Work with Events and Operations Coordinator in preparing administrative travel responsibilities in a timely manner e.g. planning travel arrangements, advances, submitting expense reports with receipt documentation (within the month that the advance was used), transportation, advance travel itineraries for multi-day trips etc.

30%1) Enters requisitions and purchase orders on behalf of the Athletics Department at the direction of the Director of Athletics.
2) Designs effective and accessible graphics & elements for social media, websites, applications, and digital media platforms.
3) Creates motion graphics for use on websites and multi-media presentations.
4) Design brochures, signs, media guides, presentation templates and materials, and other print media as needed to support the athletics department.
5) Designs and collaborates on digital assets within sport specific branding as needed.
6) Creates ads for various stakeholders in which the Athletics Department partners with for active sponsorships.
7) Collaborates with customers as needed from concept to creation to customer support.
8) Creates various note cards/stationary for sports and departments with Athletics.
9) Collaborate with CLC PR-Marketing Department to create signage that is displayed at various Athletic venues and functions.
10) Collaborate with CLC PR-Marketing Department to maintain brand integrity for the department.
11) Maintain documentation for each project including approvals, comments, drafts, and artwork.
12) Creates, executes, and files all intercollegiate athletic event contracts.
13) Assists and maintains historical team statistics, CLC Hall of Fame, Lake County High School Hall of Fame, and alumnus records.
14) Researches and stays abreast of sports media trends, specifically within collegiate and professional athletics.
15) Complies with all industry safety and best practice standards for the execution of hosted events.
16) Maintains awareness of and supports the diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives of the Athletics Department and College of Lake County.
17) Assures the integrity of the Athletics Department and College of Lake County in all forms of communication and personal contacts.
