New Jersey Institute of Technology is a NCAA Division I institution and a member of the America East Conference located in the University Heights district of Newark, NJ, is accepting applications for the Head Men’s Head Basketball Coach position. The Head Coach will provide leadership and be responsible for directing all aspects of the program including: the recruitment of qualified student-athletes consistent with the competitive requirements of a DI program and the academic standards of the University; conducting and supervising practices; and the preparation and implementation of game strategies. Additional responsibilities include: scheduling, budget oversight, supervision of assistant coaches & staff; participation in fundraising, engaging in public relations events and community initiatives. The Head Coach must be committed to NCAA & University rules compliance. Responsible for successful graduation rates and APR scores. Other duties include serving on institutional and America East committees and performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Essential qualifications include a bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven years coaching experience at a highly competitive collegiate level or professional basketball league equivalent. All applicants must demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, and a commitment to student athlete welfare and athletics excellence in a rigorous academic environment.
