Multnomah University is a private non-denominational Christian university located in the heart of Northeast Portland, Oregon. We are seeking a collaborative and dynamic individual eager to serve as the Head Women's Basketball Coach. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of an NAIA women's basketball program including but not limited to coaching varsity and junior varsity student-athletes, recruitment, budget management, maintaining eligibility/compliance, and operational logistics. The candidate must be comfortable being a leader spiritually, athletically and academically.
As the new Head Women's Basketball Coach, you are preparing student-athletes for the rigors of a Cascade Collegiate Conference/NAIA schedule with the goal of competing at the highest levels nationally.
Along with planning and directing overall player development and training, you will evaluate performance in competitions. You will also create game strategies with the support of your staff such as an Assistant Coach and/or Graduate Assistant. You will also work in collaboration with our athletic training staff and administrative team.
You will be responsible for overall program compliance working with the Assistant Athletic Director and Faculty Athletics Representative to maintain high academic standards.
This position requires a high and constant level of identifying, evaluating, and managing recruitment of prospective athletes. You will be expected to maintain a robust varsity and junior varsity roster.
This position requires oversight of your program's budget as well as the scheduling of travel arrangements with hotels, rental companies and other vendors.
You will lead and support alumni and friends of the program that coincides with meeting fundraising goals as dictated by your budgetary needs.
This is a full-time, 12 month position and is eligible for benefits. It reports to the Athletic Director.

JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred with at least two years of experience coaching.
Competitive athletic experience as a player or coach.
Ability to successfully recruit skilled student-athletes.
Ability to teach and analyze fundamental and advanced skills of basketball.
Leads with the highest ethical and moral standards
Knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations
Demonstrated commitment to a program of academic and athletic excellence
Demonstrated experience in small college athletics
