Coordinate the recruitment of qualified student-athletes, including talented student-athletes from all levels of high school, junior college, international and collegiate. Assist in coaching and training student-athletes at the NCAA Division I level to prepare them for competition in local, regional, and national arenas Organize the process of evaluation & tracking of prospective student-athletes with staff Assist with travel involved with recruitment, games/matches, and tournaments Assist with monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes Video analysis and scouting of opponents Assist with the maintenance of accurate files of current and prospective student-athletes Assist with maintenance of required NCAA, A-10, and University paperwork Promote execution of the Athletic Department's strategic plan by adhering to its mission and core values and acting upon its goals and strategies.

Minimum Qualifications 
Minimum hiring standards include:
Must have an advanced degree or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of two (3) years of coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level is preferred
Previous playing experience in the sport of basketball is preferred.
Required Licenses/ Certifications
Must have First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications or achieve certifications within 30 days of hire
