Thiel College welcomes highly motivated applicants for the position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach who is relentlessly positive with very high standards and is comfortable being both strategic and hands-on.

The successful candidate will have the skills necessary to lead a program, build institutional support, and develop student-athletes. Thiel College’s next Head Women’s Basketball Coach will be a dynamic leader who directs all aspects of the basketball program with integrity. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach serves as an active and visible campus presence, serving on committees, meeting recruits, and engaging with student-athletes through highly impactful practices on the field and activities off the field that promote leadership and retention.

This position will have the opportunity to work with and develop a committed group of student-athletes promoting student success both on the field, in the classroom as well as in the community. Thiel’s Head Women’s Basketball Coach will be charged with leading the efforts to build and strengthen a cohesive basketball program while working with the Director of Athletics.

The candidate must have a solid commitment to academics and athletic success, demonstrating the ability to identify, recruit, and retain student-athletes as well as an understanding of the College’s Mission. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this full-time, 12-month on-campus position will be responsible for directing all aspects of Thiel’s NCAA Division III program and will be expected to abide by and uphold the regulations of the NCAA Division III and the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

Specific duties will include but are not limited to recruitment, retention, coaching, scheduling, team travel, budget management, fundraising, and monitoring student athletes’ academic progress. Candidate must have a strong commitment to academic and athletic success, with a demonstrated ability to identify and recruit student-athletes, a proven record of outstanding leadership, and strong organizational skills.

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. 3-4 years of coaching experience at an NCAA program is desired.
