Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the head coach is responsible for setting a Christ-centered culture of competitive excellence, sportsmanship and personal growth through mentorship and education. Duties include but are not limited to: budget and roster management, recruiting, fundraising, student-athlete development, staff supervision, alumni engagement and academic accountability. The candidate must be committed to all NCAA Division II, Great Midwest Athletic Conference and Malone University policies and procedures. They must possess professionalism, integrity and serve as a positive role model on and off campus.
Must exhibit a personal understanding of, and operate in concert with the Mission statement and Foundational Principals of the University. A demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of people and a demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems and complete projects independently is essential.
A coaching background in collegiate basketball, a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, excellent communication skills, strong organizational and leadership skills, and a proven ability to recruit and develop student-athletes are required. A commitment to faith integration and character development is essential.
A bachelor's degree and valid drivers license are required.
