Huntingdon College, a private liberal arts college of the United Methodist Church with 172 years of history located in Montgomery, Alabama, is accepting applications for the immediate hiring of a Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Responsibilities: The Head Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for the overall administration of a competitive program, including the recruitment of student-athletes, and the program’s direction. Other primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, instruction of game strategies; day-to-day operation of program; scheduling; planning and coordinating team travel; recruitment of new athletes and management of the roster; monitoring of student-athlete academic progress; community outreach; budget management including following purchasing and spending guidelines as set by the College and the athletic department. It is the responsibility of the Head Coach to conduct the men’s basketball program according to NCAA Division III, Collegiate Conference of the South, and College rules and regulations.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s preferred. The successful candidate must be committed to the NCAA Division III philosophy and the role of athletics within a private, liberal arts college. The candidate must have successful coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level. The position is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits and reports to the Director of Athletics. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
